What to expect in this lesson

Protein is the one of the three macronutrients which acts as the main building block for everything in our body. When it comes to diets there are so many different types out there. You can choose between low carb diets, high carb diets, meat based diets or plant based diets. They all are based on a different macronutrient split. Macronutrient is just a way of saying “protein, carbohydrates, and fats” which make up the energy content of your food. You commonly call this energy as “calories.” One thing that is not negotiable about the macronutrients though is to get every day the right amount of protein. In this lesson you will learn about the benefits of protein, how much you should eat every day and in every meal. You will also adjust your meals to always have enough protein and feel satiated. You will also :
  • Figure out and implement the appropriate protein balance into your diet. 
  • Determine high quality protein sources and how to include them in your diet.
  • Figure out your proper amount of food intake. You are not the same person you were a decade ago, and you are not the person you will be a decade from now . Your nutrition and specifically your protein intake should reflect your continuously changing metabolic needs.
  • Adapt evidence-based guidelines to your personal needs and goals.

You will go into some detail so be prepared for some reading!

Protein is derived from the Greek word πρώτειος (proteios), meaning “primary” or “in the lead”. Protein was believed to be the most important nutrient for maintaining the structure of the body, already by early nutritional scientists such as the German Carl von Voit.

Before you start there are some important information for you to read on how the course is structured.

Establishing 7 life changing habits

The course is a self-paced online course consisting of 7 lessons. Each lesson will establish a small new habit which will build upon the previous ones. We will start with what may seem small steps but this is key for success as we want to create the nutritional foundation that can last for a lifetime.

Each lesson will start by explaining what to expect and why this habit is important. At this phase devote some time to read and understand the provided content. It is designed to be simple and engaging and to not to overwhelm you with too much science. 

You will then get the lessons objective. Once it is clear what is being asked of you, please then proceed into the practice section. 

The practice phase is biggest part of each lesson. You will receive via email everything you need to reach your objective. Reaching your objective means you are comfortably doing what is being asked on most days. Habits are actions that should feel easy and even fun. And this might take time. In our experience it can even take a couple of weeks of practising some of the lessons. If you feel the objective is challenging it is a sign that you need to keep practicing. So don’t move on but instead we suggest to reach out to us so we can discuss and provide you some guidance.

It is also important to note that you can’t skip topics or lessons. You need to go through them one-by-one in the sequence laid out. All lessons are equally important.

At the end of the course you you will have experienced first hand what proper nutrition is and how to apply the principles you leant into your life. But most importantly you should have transformed your daily nutrition and feel full of energy. We hope you really enjoy the course!

Keeping a daily blog is important to allow for self-reflection, create awareness of how your are progressing and allow you to ask us your questions (if needed).

You will be using Cronometer on a daily basis to track your meals and your nutritional status. A pro-account will be required.
